1.Standing guard on the sands of Santhome, a monument of yore
Christ’s own Apostle, Thomas, walked on this very shore
Faithful to His Lord and Master, he laboured to the end
Building up a church for Christ, in Meliapore.
Little church beside the sea, oh! So loved by me
Purchased with a precious price, the blood of Calvary
Little church beside the sea, shines for all to see
Like a beacon on a hill, guiding to eternity.
2. It was way back in 1842, the year our church was born
Gaining strength with grace and favour, weathering many a storm
Serving man in times of trouble, thro’ world wars one and two
A place of prayer and refuge, for every weary soul.
Little church beside the sea, oh! So loved by me
Purchased with a precious price, the blood of Calvary
Little church beside the sea, shines for all to see
Like a beacon on a hill, guiding to eternity.
3. Many years have come and gone now, yet she stands secure
Teaching young and old to worship their God forevermore
Serving, sharing, praying, praising, till we see His face
Then to hear Him whisper, then to hear Him say
`Little church beside the sea, oh! So loved by Me
Purchased with My precious blood, the blood of Calvary
Little church beside the sea, you shone for all to see
Well done, O faithful one, great is your reward this day’
