The Mission Festival was celebrated on 21 July 2019, starting with the Holy Communion Service at 7.30 am. The Sale was inaugurated by our Presbyter Rev. Dr. Paul V Birla after the service. All fellowship groups participated in the sale by putting up stalls. There was breakfast and other stalls selling eatables and homemade goodies.
The Vacation Bible School was held in our Church from 24 April to 4 May 2019. Around 140 children from our parish and the surrounding areas participated in the VBS. ‘Come, let us go to Galilee’ was the theme this year, and many joined in enthusiastically by volunteering and teaching in the VBS.
Palm Sunday was celebrated on 14 April 2019, with a procession. The Church was decorated with palm leaves, and the congregation went on a procession to the main gate, where they assembled and sang songs and read the Bible. Our Choir sang a special cantata during the Passiontide Recital in the evening.
‘Little Missionaries’ was the theme for Children’s Sunday, as our Sunday School children staged an African-themed play, sang lively songs and took active part in the morning worship service. A series of competitions were conducted prior to this, and prizes were distributed to all the winners.
The ATF is truly special, and it began with a special thanksgiving service, followed by the festival sale, which was inaugurated by the oldest couple in the congregation! Besides food stalls, fun and games, a picturesque thanksgiving-themed photo booth, a white elephant stall and a plastic-free initiative were the highlights this year.

A 2-day Lenten Retreat was conducted by Bro. Anbu on Day 1 at CSI-Mullipakkam Church of Andrewpuram Pastorate, near Chengalpet and Bro. John K John on Day 2 at STEC, on the theme “Encountering Checkmates”. It was a wonderful time of prayer and fellowship, made especially meaningful in the Lenten season.
