Initially, as an English congregation among the Tamils, it remained as a small congregation struggling even to maintain its own church building. But slowly it began to grow as English speaking people started joining the church and it also extended its fellowship to the people of other States in India.

When the church built a new parsonage, it started a Nursery and Primary School in the old parsonage as a social project to help the poor children. The church also opened a Medical Centre in the old Parish Hall for the poor. As more people joined the church and especially as people began to give liberally to the ministry, it not only began to grow, it also celebrated its 160th year in a grand manner, it started helping the Diocese in its projects and started to build churches and schools in the rural areas. Praise the Lord!

So far, our church has built churches in Athimancheri, Ulliambakkam and Pichatur and renovated a school in Athimanchery.

The church also sponsors 50 poor childern who are staying in hostels and studying in our Diocesan schools and supports 8 missionaries working in our Diocese, NMS and IMS.

Now, the church has a plan to build a New Parish Hall before it celebrates the 175th anniversary of this parish.
